Prapti Patel

Prapti began dancing when she was seven years old, training in Raas and Garba and performing at various cultural shows, like GCA (Gujarati Cultural Association of Bay Area) and ICA (Indian Cultural Association of Bay Area). She went on to join Shrungaar, a competitive team and performed with them, winning several times at CCF. She began training in Bollywood with Mona Khan in 2004 and went on to become a part of the Principal Emerging Performers, when the program was created.

Prapti believes that dance is one form of art where one can relax, re-energize, be creative, get a workout, stay fit and have fun all at the same time! However tired she may be, once she gets to the studio, she is eager to experience and learn something new.

Prapti began teaching dance as an assistant instructor in the India Community Centre summer camps in 2007. She went on to become a primary instructor with the Mona Khan Company in 2011. As an instructor, she truly believes that everyone has the potential to dance their heart out. She wants to enable all her students to reach their highest potential in a fun and supportive environment. She absolutely loves interacting with kids and watching them grow up!

Outside of the studio she can be found pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy at San Jose State University. She also works with the organization-My Sahana. She used to part of the Fremont League basketball, baseball, soccer, and swimming teams for several years. She loves skiing, camping, and travelling, especially to spots involving the beach and swimming!
