In addition, she studied Ballet from the age of 13-25 yrs with various instructors and has taken several classes and workshops in Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz and Ballroom styles of dance. She has been a part of the Principal Emerging Performers of Mona Khan Company since June 2012.

For Roma, Dance has been a lifelong love and passion. Even at a young age, she was fascinated by the way a dancer’s body movements and facial expressions evoke a flow of emotions in an observer. She dances to create her own art of heart and passion.

Roma has been teaching dance almost as long as she has been a dancer. She started formally teaching Bollywood Dance classes at the age of 17 while she was still in college. She was also the Captain of her college Bollywood Dance team for one year. During her first couple of years of teaching, she took her teams to FOGANA competitions for two years in a row as their choreographer and instructor. She has been an instructor with the Mona Khan Company since 2012. As an instructor, her philosophy is to inspire, cultivate, nurture and have fun!

Outside the studio, Roma works as a Physician Assistant in Stanford Hospital’s Adult Neurology Practice. She can often be found playing with her dog Zoe at a local park, hiking and doing yoga. On a rainy day, you may find her curled up reading a good book, or at the movies. She also loves to go to concerts, plays and musicals any chance she gets. Her favorite foods are sushi and pizza, not usually together!
