Tara Bhatia

Tara started her dance journey as soon as she could walk. She started off with jazz, tap, and ballet at the Fremont Recreation Center. She joined Naach in 2005 at the age of five and continued on with MKC, becoming an instructor in 2016. She also studied Kathak under Pandit Chitresh Das.

Dance allows Tara to tap into the creative side of her brain when coming up with new formations, choreography, and stunts for her classes and her school dance team.

In her words: “I believe that a great dancer is not great due to their technique, but they are great due to their passion.” She believes that sharing her passion with her students helps her become a better dancer, but the best part is seeing the smiles on her students’ faces and being greeted with big hugs from the kids.

Watch out though—Tara has a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo. She is also passionate about technology and has formed an organization named Byte-Sized that gives young girls the opportunity and skills needed to learn how to code.
